Gülnur Tumbat, Professor of Marketing at San Francisco State University, is a renowned marketing scholar, consultant, and athlete. She has taught at University of Utah, American University-Beirut, Universite de Nice-Sophia Antipolis-France, University of Innsbruck-Austria, Bahcesehir University-Istanbul&Silicon Valley, and Bogazici University-Istanbul. As an avid endurance athlete, climber, ultrarunner, adventure racer, skier, and mountaineer, she has climbed the 7 Summits, the highest mountains on each geographic continent (the first and to date, the only Turkish woman to do so). Her academic research on risk marketing and risk consumption was featured in BBC, KelloggInsight, and Spectrum (Scientific American German Edition) among others. As a marketing consultant, she has worked with brands such as Philips, SCA, and REI, and serves on advisory boards and mentorship programs for several startups.
